“Shepherd’s Star had quite a drastic impact on my life” – Faithe
Faithe was first introduced to Shepherd’s Star through the Job Centre, which marked the beginning of a pivotal chapter in her life as she was not ready to take on a job. After college, Faithe faced uncertainty about her future and Shepherd’s Star and its Explore programme presented a new direction.
As Faithe completed Explore and engaged with Shepherd’s Star, her participation evolved from being a programme attendee to taking on volunteer roles. Her experience at Explore not only enhanced her
confidence but also enriched her social skills as she had “constant connection with other people”. Faithe was interested in volunteering at Shepherd’s Star as “the social aspects” resonated with her. She also has a passion for music which she was able to share and “use it as a way of supporting other people by soothing them”.
Shepherd’s Star has “definitely contributed to a lot of aspects of my future” says Faithe. Her story reflects significant personal growth and community impact, illustrating the transformative power of Shepherd’s Star.
Faithe says that Good Friday has “definitely helped me feel more connected to people because you’re having that interaction, that you wouldn’t normally have and it helps encourage you to seek it out more as well.”
