Christmas Box

In 2022, Shepherd’s Star was encouraged by local residents and business owners, to begin a Project Christmas Holiday Box crowdfunding campaign through Just Giving, to support families in need over Christmas.

Following the overwhelming success (and happy recipients) of our first Project Christmas Holiday Box, we re-ran the campaign again in 2023 and 2024 are now planning for 2025 and beyond.

The aim behind the funding is to gift a local family a delicious Christmas food hamper that includes a selection of pantry items to stock their store cupboard over the Christmas holidays, a Christmas roast – with all the trimmings – dessert, chocolates, biscuits, a selection of vegetable & fruits in season and of course, Christmas Crackers!

In order to identify families in need, Shepherd’s Star partners with Achieving For Children who select up to 70 families across the borough of Richmond upon Thames to benefit from Project Christmas Holiday Box.

Shepherd’s Star is incredibly grateful to all our supporters, volunteers and community partners for their involvement in our campaign – we could not do what we do without you.  In particular, we thank:
  • Cambrian Community Centre
  • Richmond Furniture Scheme
  • Twickenham Hygiene Bank
